Chances are you already know the premise of Death Note if you’re reading this, so I’ll be brief: Light Yagami finds a magic notebook that has the power to kill anyone who’s name he writes in it’s pages. Light immediately sets out to free the world of crime by killing every criminal he sees on the news; unfortunately, the police consider Light’s actions mass murder and call in the world’s greatest detective, known only as “L” to solve the case.

The real question is this: Will your friends who aren’t familiar with Death Note be able to enjoy this film? My answer is a cautious maybe; the CG for the Death God (shinigami) character Ryuk is a bit lackluster – he looks like he’s in a videogame. The plot is a little draggy and convoluted since it’s split into two movies. I’m not certain someone coming from a non-fan perspective would have the patience for it.


If anything, Death Note feels like a date movie. Light is played by hot young actor Tatsuya Fujiwara, and his girlfriend Shirori’s part is expanded for the film. There’s a tragic-death-romance ending that seems tacked on to win over… well, your date. It seems like a movie made by guys with some kissing thrown in so that girls will still enjoy it.

The Liger

Ligers are the most ferocious animals in Africa, they are superior hunters, once a pack of Ligers has a prey picked out there is virtually no escape.

Ligers roam Africa in packs of several dozen, one dominant male, 10 – 12 females and the offspring. They are very territorial and if two packs encounter each other the results are usually quite messy.

Liger cubs can start to hunt prey on their own as early as one year old, being able to bring down a full grown antelope all on their own.

If you encounter a Liger the best way to survive the encounter is to bark like a dog, Ligers seem to detest the noise and more often than not they retreat.

The soybean (U.S.) or soya bean (UK) (Glycine max) is a species of legume native to East Asia. It is an annual plant that has been used in China for 5,000 years as a food and a component of drugs. Soy contains significant amounts of all the essential amino acids for humans, and so is a good source of protein. Soybeans are the primary ingredient in many processed foods, including dairy product substitutes.


Soya: versatile product!

In China, the soya bean has been cultivated and used in different ways for thousands of years. Soya was considered as one of the 5 holy crops, besides rice, wheat, barley and millet.
Soya beans are very versatile: soya beans can be used as whole soya beans, soya sprouts, or processed as soya milk, tofu, tempeh, soya sauce or miso. Soya is also used as ingredient for non-food products, such as candle wax and biodiesel. Soy candles are becoming more popular because they burn longer and healthier.

The increasing popularity of soya foods is mainly attributed to the large amount of health benefits which are associated with the use of soya beans. The role of soya in the prevention of chronic diseases continues to be a top priority for scientist around the world.
The FDA has confirmed that foods containing soy protein may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. Only people with soy allergy (about 0.5 percent of the population) should avoid eating food containing soy protein. Over the past years, there has been an increasing interest in the antioxidant effects of soya and in particular the health benefits of isoflavones. Soya is very important for vegetarians and vegans. Soya has a high protein content and soya is rich in vitamins, minerals and fibers. The easiest way to consume soya is by drinking soya milk.
